-  ** General comments  **

  - We will know in early March the outcome of this call
  - Need to be sure we stress the new ideas in the project, not only the technological part as this is a call for ideas, not innovation in technology
  - Consider to apply to also Xtrack

- ** Are successful grants  or CV available? **

  - Will ask and let you know if INFN makes them public
  


- ** Reference (what kind? Workshops? Papers? Can we reference only B2) and pictures count toward the 5-page limit? **

  - B1 is read by scientists which are not in the specific field, so the target is something like "Scientific American". Pictures OK, very few fondamental citations

  - B2 is read by experts of the field, so it should be written as for a refereed journal.


- ** We need to pay part of the PI salary. Best would be to pay a part of it as "relocation", using the starting extra funds. How much can we pay for relocation? do we need to provide justification? ** 

  - Not sure about relocation money, need to understand better how they can be used


- **  Do we include graduate students? **

  - Yes, but only for the part they actually work on the grant, ~ 50%

- ** Overhead: 20% INFN, not sure what to do. It saturates the possible OH alowed from ERC. **
- **  What is the IRAP and other extracosts you mentioned? **
  - INFN should decrease it, it's too high and it makes certain payment impossible.



- ** Can we pay trips for UCSC personel? **

  - Yes, UCSC can be added to the project as an institution with 0 budget. This allows the inclusion of trip expenses


- ** How do we organize subcontractors? What can we pay? How this is substructure? A deliverable for a lump sum? Or more details, several people? **

  - It's a deliverable for a lump sum. INFN Turin needs to make up a call for a service, receives a proposal from Santa Cruz and then INFN pays SantaCruz for this service. 


-  ** What can be included in the "relocation" starting package?  Equipments, software licenses both in Turin ad Santa Curz? We need several "submissions". Can those be covered by the starting funds? **

  - Not Sure

- ** Can we buy equipments for SantaCruz? Can we buy two lasers and send one to Santa Cruz? **

  - Explicitly we cannot, as everything needs to have an inventory number. We can maybe lend something to Santa Cruz, but not easily. 


-  ** We need to "enroll" INFN in the application. It's INFN Turin or INFN Italy? ** 

  - It's already there. Need to send a letter with the name and the abstract to INFN Rome for the official permission
